    Kim Scarborough

    Kim Scarborough has had a creative imagination as a quilter since 1989. Her projects are Free and playful, using all types of mediums including her own hand dyed fabrics. She tends to “take the Road less traveled” when it comes to sewing. Free to NOT follow the rules, She tries to insert Joy into every piece. always thinking about the viewer and if it will create a smile.

    At age 9 Kim learned from her great-grandmother, Hortense Helms. Her authentic methods of cutting and sewing by hand and taking care to not waist but use materials available. Kim is a career Nurse. She and Her Husband raised 3 sons. They both currently live in Auburn.

    Her works have been displayed at:
    8th and Rain, Opelika
    Auburn Public Library
    Wrights Mill Road School Library
    Jan Dempsey Cultural Art Center
    And various other shows throughout East Alabama
